Courage is the most important of all
the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other
virtues consistently. You can't be consistently kind or fair or
humane or generous, not without courage, because if you don't have
it, sooner or later you will stop and say, "The threat is too much.
The difficulty is ...too high. The challenge is too great. ~ Maya

Will increases of 25-36% in
coaching salaries (since Wellman's arrival) be
reconsidered when addressing current budget
shortfalls?
Do your EEF donations actually fund
teachers ... or instead ... dramatic increases in
coaching salaries?
Based on a review of Eanes ISD public documents
previously obtained by KeepEanesInformed in
2004, it appears that many athletic position
compensation packages have increased by
25-36% since Dr.
Wellman's arrival.
Compare the 03/04 coaching salaries to the
08/09 coaching salaries here:

(We've heard that, as part of the
recruiting deal with the new
football coach, he brought five new
football coaches to our district.)

Since Wellman's
arrival in Eanes ISD in January
2004,
administrative salaries have also
increased ... by a whopping 50%.
By comparison, the teaching salaries
have increased by only 12% in that
time period and remember, the
athletic salary increases detailed
above factor into that 12%.
Therefore, it appears that our
teachers who do not coach received
an even lower percentage increase in
salary in the last five years.
