Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtues consistently. You can't be consistently kind or fair or humane or generous, not without courage, because if you don't have it, sooner or later you will stop and say, "The threat is too much. The difficulty is ...too high. The challenge is too great. ~ Maya Angelou

June 10, 2009 Question of the Week

Is the rumor true?   Is newly re-elected Eanes ISD board member Gail King leaving town and vacating her board seat?

June 10, 2009  - Trying to confirm the rumor:

Just one month ago, Gail King was re-elected as an Eanes ISD board member.  Now rumor has it that Gail King is leaving town and vacating her board seat.  If this is true, then what?

Here's the board policy regarding vacated board positions.

Dianna Pharr has emailed Eanes ISD to confirm or deny King's departure -- please check back for the district response.

June 12, 2009  - When did the district plan to tell us about King's departure?

We emailed Dale Whitaker and asked if King planned to leave town and vacate her seat.   The next day, June 12, Whitaker responded by email with confirmation of the rumor and a June 12 press release announcing King's resignation.  Shortly thereafter, the Austin American-Statesman posted this notice on the AAS Homeroom Blog.

June 13, 2009 - A petition is circulated:
